Colleen not only assists Lou in teaching the Monday classes in Westchester, she has her own classes for Walk In Dance Out (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Students) which are held every Tuesday at our West LA location.Colleen about herself:
I was born in St. Louis, MO, and grew up in Los Angeles. As well as being a dance teacher, I've worked for LA Unfied School District for 22 years. I met Lou Schreiber at Walk in Dance Out and have been with him for over 10 years. During this time I've had the pleasure of teaching at several locations.
Also I have worked with and taken classes from many South Land teachers and studios. I've chosen to stay with Lou Schreiber because I believe dancing is a gift that should be affordable and available to everyone regardless of age and ability. I've taught students from 9 years to 91 years of age. We may all aspire to "Fred" and "Ginger", but in the meantime we can still have fun :-) I think dancing should be enjoyed rather than studied, expressed rather than just performed. Walk in Dance out is "home" for a lot of us who just want to have fun dancing, but also a great starting place for the ones who want to go to "higher levels".
Colleen is also available for additional help with private lessons in the afternoons, evenings and on weekends. She offers private and semi-private lessons at her home studio on the Westside.
