Many students attend his classes for years - simply because Lou knows how to make dancing fun.
For many students Lou's classes are the "highlight of the week", and the groups are very close. Dancing is exercise and can be a real "workout". There is no better way to work out while you're having fun dancing!
Lou won First Place in the National Dance Teacher's competition and had eight years of experience with Arthur Murray Studio's before he opened his own dance school. Lou's last title at Arthur Murray was as Master Trainer of Dance Instructors. In his "other life" Lou was a Professor of Psychology and Business Management at L.A. Harbor College for several decades but even during this time he continued to share his true love of teaching ballroom dance.
Lou, a big Tigger and Pooh-Fan has something from both of these characters. Most of the time, he is all "Tigger", and lately, he's becoming more like the gentle "Pooh".
Lou is a "Legend" and well-respected by his students!
LOU SCHREIBER
Lou Schreiber has started over 50,000 people in ballroom dancing with his Los Angeles ballroom dance lessons. Even after more than 50 years of teaching, he never thinks about retirement. Not only is he teaching 3 nights with 11 classes a week, but he also gives private lessons to some long-time students in his own studio. AND he can also be found on many dance floors in and around Los Angeles!
Lou is definitely one of the most experienced dance instructors. He uses techniques that allow everyone to learn without everyone watching you. Plus, he uses humor to create an environment that is friendly and easy to learn. Lou loves to teach wedding dance lessons as well as Los Angeles salsa dance lessons. His very special way of teaching by explaining patiently every single step and move for beginners, slowly offering more for intermediates and a lot more from his high level students has gained him a long-term clientele.
